Youth In Action

We are happy to announce that our application for the Youth in Action grant has been accepted. The grant is split in two parts, one covering a percentage the participants’ travelling expenses and the other supporting the program itself.

Because of this good news we are happy to announce that the Euro-Mini-Jam camp fee will be lowered by 100 EUR.

EUR: 195

Iceland, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Malta, Monaco, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein

EUR: 92

Montenegro

Since not all of the small states of Europe were allowed to apply for the grant we are currently discussing possibilities of balancing that part for the benefits of the small state
co-operation. However, nothing is certain and countries that could not apply should not assume that they will receive a refund of their travelling expenses.
We will send further information through E-mail to all NSO’s/MO’s as well as to registered national patrol leaders. Also be sure to visit our website every week.

Volcanic eruption – No harm for Euro-Mini-Jam

As you might have seen on the news the volcano Eyjafjallajökull is now erupting in Iceland. This has not had any affect in Reykjavik or around the campsite area, we cannot even see the eruption from there.

Still, in a small area on the far side of Iceland ashes has been falling resulting in damage for farmers and inhabitants. Furthermore the ash spreading over Europe grounded many flights for a few days, causing chaos in transportation all over Europe.

Ash has not fallen in Ulfljotsvatn – the Euro-Mini-Jam camp site.

When this is written, it is not believed that the eruption will spread any noticable ashes around lake Ulfljotsvatn and thus the volcanic activity does not change any plans for the Euro-Mini-Jam.

Pictures say more than 1000 words, but remember these pictures are taken in a small area near the volcano, far away from the campsite and very far from Reykjavík. There is NO such affects around the campsite area or Reykjavik:
